I'm in the market for a Russian premium TD.

SU-85I

SU-100Y

Which are still viable in current game of German Lights?

Which is a good credit earner?

and lastly Are they worth it?

Appreciate your feedback

Cheers Peter

SU-85I doesn't play like a lot of tank destroyers, you can't snipe because the gun is too innacurate, and it doesn't have any gun depression, either, but it does have a great gun, with good HE penetration, and it's pretty fast, so it's good at flanking. I earn quite a bit of credits in it, totally worth it, but I'd rather spend my gold an an SU-100Y, it's basically a larger, faster SU-152 with less armour that can ram. Because of the traverse speed you can turn around and blast most medium tanks trying to circle of death you, and then ram them to death. Makes a tonne of credits, too.

Errr, the best Russian premium TD should be SU-122.... It will come to the tech tree soon....

Su-100Y or su-85i are not that good. Get the su-152 instead.... It is better in every way

SU-85I isn't as good compared to the StuG III, which IMO is the closest comparison. It is good enough for medium range engagements though. Pack premmo, it'll help. 85mm only has something like 110mm-ish pen with AP. And work in conjunction with other tanks.

SU-122-44 is okay, but I still think T25AT is better than that thing.

SU has much better sloped armor, better alpha &  pref mm. It's also has a lower profile.

T25 AT has better gun arc, a good gun depression (love it in the old Lost Temple), better acceleration and overall mobility. SU-122-44 may have lower profile and better effective front armor thickness, but it has a rather fat lower glacis area not covered by mantlet, whereas T25 AT don't have such problem. Also the gun on the T25 AT sticks out more to the right, with combination of the good arc means I can play it almost like I play my M3 Lee (I love it too). The 105 has better pen, slightly worse alpha but better ROF (in my memory a lot of patches ago), better accuracy and aiming time. Also, I play my T25 AT as both a support and flanker because she can do it. In the SU-122-44, good luck trying to flank in a hurry.

Oh and the gun depression meant that when hulldown effective armor thickness is about the same between the T25 AT and the SU-122-44 on flat ground. Most shots from lower tier unless firing gold when hulldown will either miss, hit the mantlet as I pull back, or have a higher chance of bounce.

Not saying the SU-122-44 is bad, but my personal preference lies in the T25 AT

Pref mm, it can't be as good as the regular T7 TDs cuz they'd be OP with +1/-2

SU-122-44 needs pref MM in order to be effective, gun can pen only 175 with AP, less than 220 with APCR. Top gun on T25 AT can pen 198 with AP, 245 with APCR. T25 AT needs to be employed as a flanker and skirmisher at higher tier battle, which is possible given the mobility.

Sorry mate, I still have a softer spot in my heart for T25 AT. She never lets me down when I use her right. And strangely enough I like the SU-85I as well, 200+ battles in it, 60%-ish WR. She may not be a StuG, but she doesn't need to be.

The SU100 Y has a great gun but the armour is really bad and it's traverse is not to flash it's reaload can be good for a sniper but when people get close to u u are stuffed but the SU 85 I does have a good rotating speed and a quite good gun along with its armour which is above average for tier V.  So they both have there ups and downs but I think thy both are good TDs
