Hi All,
Just checking in here to see if anyone else is facing problems on a Starhub connection. I use both Starhub 4G as well as MaxInfinity Fibre.
Starting from Tuesday night (2-feb) I realised that ping (on both 4G and fibre) is consistently at 200+ ms.
I did several tracert tests (tracert worldoftanks.asia):
1. Starhub 4G
2. Starhub Fibre
3. Singtel Fibre
I found that on both Starhub connections, there are hops going to telia.net (wherever in the world that is), which is causing most of the latency. This didn't happen on Singtel, and it took a much fewer number of hops. Here's a sample Starhub tracert:
>tracert worldoftanks.asia
Tracing route to worldoftanks.asia [92.223.17.86]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 2 ms 3 ms 2 ms xxx.xx.xxx.xx
2 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
3 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms six2-uts-int04.starhub.net.sg [183.90.44.26]
4 195 ms 195 ms 195 ms sjo-b21-link.telia.net [213.248.89.165]
5 343 ms 343 ms 343 ms snge-b1-link.telia.net [62.115.114.41]
6 183 ms 183 ms 183 ms wargaming-ic-305210-snge-b1.c.telia.net [62.115.8.58]
7 183 ms 183 ms 183 ms sg2-n5596-fe-1-vl231.fe.core.pw [92.223.116.163]
8 183 ms 182 ms 183 ms sg2-v-a86.worldoftanks.sg [92.223.17.86]
Anyone have experience with this? Raised a ticket with Starhub but that's about it.
Thanks for reading!
