Without that gun you will hate Ferdinand a lot more because it's super slow.

Number of shell spent doesnt mean anything . it depends on the situation at hand , when half the enemy team is loaded with bunkers like E 75 , spending a dozen APCR or more is acceptable . be your own judge , if you feel you really need the premium shell and cant flank , load it

I honestly will play it like a Stug 3. Stay hidden whenever possible unless you are hulldown. If exposed It has 8 degrees gun dep so use it to angle back then tier 8s cannot pen your hull. If hulldown it is a beast especially when 128cm gun is unlocked. Unlike ferdinand Never brawl if possible and if you do, after firing you angle the front hull steeply and quickly get into cover. Hope the enemies bounce off the angled part. Use bushes whenever possible or let the team spot for you. Let me know if this helped :p

8 degree gun depression?

From the wiki , it had 7° of gun depression and 15° of elevation . however , the tall hull limits it from some of the shorter hulldown position that russian tanks can take advantage of

My bad :p But If gun depression is used fully then upper plate becomes red.

I was reading through forums discussing which is better, jp2 or ferdi. Im grinding the jgP and i felt Im leaning towards the JP2 but reading through this forum, I guess the whole learning curve with german TDs doesnt stop with the JgP...so now I got more confused with either getting the monster Ferdi (as a training tank for JgT) or the JP2 that plays like the other lower tier german TDs... (sigh)

I guess you never owned a JP2 or any tank with rear mounted turret..... in practice.... JP2 gun depression feels like zero or -1 or -2 degree at most. Making hull down a lot more difficult than most other tanks..... and the super structure is not as strong as most people think. it can be penetrated by some guns....

Ferdinand is not the training tank for jadgtiger, trust me...

ferdinand is just a scrap metal while jadgtiger is a god....

Jadgtiger is just so much godly that I enjoying it without equipment for 300 battles

while ferdinand I rage sold it....

105mm is better as the pen on both guns dont matter when you are facing higher tiers, but when you come across something you can penetrate, you will need the alpha. I personally find port bay the best map for this beast, especially with the 128mm. If the team is going to the river, stay behind them and brawl anything that comes your way. If team goes city, get yourself behind a crate and it covers most of your hull. You can get shots at any enemy tank coming that way and most of the tanks cannot pen the superstructure and if they try to hit your lower part, they will have to destroy the crate first. The stock tank is pretty much miserable but the top gun just make it a pleasure to play with. As for the credits, as long as you dont have a premium account, fire a bit if APCR per battle, use camo and get destroyed, dont expect earning credits, irrespective of how much damage I do.

C'est la vie

But for a tier 8 facing tier 10 tanks you can have all the RoF you want, if you can't penetrate then you aren't going to be scary.

well... Now we don't have to worry about t10's in yr t8's anymore... With the New MM
