Yeah advice would be good.  Am grinding up to this in the 25/2 and would love to know how to drive this snail around.  Like a t95?

Just a T28 with a turret, don't brawl. The slow speed and the painful traverse speed will end up in tears when mediums circle. Play it like a normal tank destroyer with a wider gun arc and you'll be fine.

If you want to go to front lines, support your heavies with your good firepower and armour. It works best in a platoon where there is actually teamwork in random battles!

Its a great tank and definitely not a T95. It does not have anywhere near the bouncy armour and low profile of a T95, and is less tough than the T28. Its damn ugly and ungainly, but it can do the job - utilise the traversable turret - its not the battering ram like the T28 or T95.

If top tier it can be near the front - as the front profile is decently armoured. But lowest tier its just going to be easily penned everywhere.

Best way is to play it abit like a Heavy - side scrape or angle it about 40 degrees to give the hull more protection through more effective armour. Or hull down and utilise the decent frontal turret armour.

Its a decent tank...plus the grind is worth it for the epic T30.

Ah... when you get to the T30, the turret is not as tough as you remember on the T29. Don't get too confident with it.

The turret is awesome. This is the best TD tier 9, hands down - 650 alpha but flexibility of a Heavy. A T34 on alpha steroids.

Back to the OP, remember that turreted TD's give far more options so utilise the greater flexibility, otherwise you'll be wasting this vehicle. Goodluck.

Well not the best TD, it is a matter of personal preference. I like the 704 the most though. But the thing is that the tier 10 TDs can pen the are just outside the mantlet.

Am a few games in this tank, its pretty tough for its tier but not if you re bottom tier.  It sure is one slow moving TD.  I can barely make it out of spawn most times. How do you guys use it? Mostly sniping TD?  Haven t tried any sidescraping or anything.

Its pretty slow. If you are not side scraping to increase effective armour, then better play T28, as you are not utilising the turret. I suggest playing it as I suggested above. I'm still on a decent Cellbrock rating in this tonk so i did something right - its still my top 10 WR vehicle, and I haven't played it in months. If you find a better way to play it, let me know, as I like this freaky thing.

Thanks,

played a few more earlier solo tried a bit of side scrape and it did well so i will adopt that from your advice.  The snail pace doesnt allow me to reach obstacles fast enough sometimes!  Its pretty effective sniper wise, just getting to those spots on time are the problem.  Grinding up to the top gun. Yeah its a wierd mish mash frankensteinish sorta half tank half zombie licker killer!

Yeah its a weird one, alright. It lacks the troll armour of the T28 but is more flexible so I prefer it. Waiting for Bushka or 48ton to do a detailed review...

Have you tried using the speed boost consumable?  Pimp - can't remember if you used that on yours?

Never use Turbo. Always go for Adrenalin instead (potentially get me out of a tight spot and cause higher dmg/credits).

This. ^^^

Engine power doesn't really make a difference to a very slow tank. Rushing into tactical positions take forever.

No, i think its top speed is just slow, so i guess the boost will just get it to speed but not any faster.  Might try the adrenaline like pimp and sydb mentioned.
