I saw a topic not so long time ago, where guy asked "Which British line is best" or something like that
And then I saw many people saying that they should go for British heavy line 
And I was kind of confused, since British heavies are rather, how do you say it 
Weird and bad 
I like their reload rate but other than that
In what are they good and how good are they

Their armour is great(only if you know how to angle)
And as you said, great guns and great dpm and great accuracy.
Mobility is meh but that's to be expected.
Low alpha but faaaaast reload.
What more do you want?
Imo, they are great but many players will disagree.
As always, it all comes down to personal opinion.

The tier 5 has got the highest heavy dpm in its tier plus manageable armour.

The tier 6 has got great armour and great dpm

The tier 7 has good armour and great dpm

The higher tiers- I have no clue

Matilda is fantastic as long as you don't get too overconfident Churchill Mk I and Mk VII need a buff. Tanks like the T1 outclass the Mk I and the Mk 7 is fighting tanks that will easily pen it and only works when top tier. Black Prince has armour that the Mk VII wishes it had and the insane DPM along with the specialized consumable/provisions that go up to the 215 B, Caernarvon is a good but the Conqueror is where it's at because this tank finally allows you to use a proper heavy tank gun instead of the guns better suited for medium tanks. FV 215 B is more like the Super Conq then the actual Super Conq but with a rear mounted turret and has better hull armour plus it traverses quite quick and I mean both the hull and turret making CoDing it in a medium near suicide if you don't know what you are doing.

Tanks below tier 8 are solid heavies. Tier 8-10 need considerable skill to play because of the weak-ish armour. If you are thinking of grinding to tier X other lines are more competitive.

They're just kind of not really good

the tier 5, 6 and 7 have a thing where a part of the hull extends out to the tracks so you take damage when you get tracked directly front on, and also basically making angling meaningless. If anybody has even a second to aim they'll go for that or your dead flat plate every time. Which means all you can do is drive directly into a flank and hope you can overpower somebody and make your team push. The Churchills are just horrendous. But the black prince makes up for it all Having extremely mediocre armour despite going 20km doesn't matter so much when you have 3000 dpm and can rip an entire flank to shreds 

The caern is fairly weak but its one of the few tier 8 heavies without absolutely horrendous dpm so in the few situations it does work it does actually make up for lost time. I haven't got the coq and fv yet but i don't really see the point of them. People talk them up as being for skilled players but it hurts the team so much to essentially lose a heavy in exchange for a low alpha low dpm paper TD.

Just play the line up to the Black Prince unless you have enough XP to skip the Caernarvon which doesn't stand a chance at tier 8/9 in most circumstances.

I would agree the conqueror is basically a TD but FV 215b is fine. You can defeat most tanks in a 1v1 and it has strong turret armour. With bonus consumables it is quite competitive.

I got told to play the conqueror like a big, hard-hitting medium. Worked for me.

Yeah. Conqueror can't trade with heavies and its fast enough to play a med.
