Saw the rumor of reticle choice in the upcoming update. Thoughts?

For me it's meh. This is not a real tank. Our guns don't shoot predictably inside the reticle. So whatever. Now if I can change my reticle to be yellow colour that would be different. Or more awesome if wargaming in their wisdom give my enemy reticle color exactly the same colors as my camouflage when they are aiming at me.

PS: reticle = cross hair for lay speak

Reticles don't exactly serve any purpose except showing where the shell is going to land so I don't care about it.

As I wrote above, sometimes the shells don't even strike inside the reticle circle.

That might explain a few things....

The current reticle and view cursor are quite hard to see for me, so any customisation is *very* welcome.

If you are moving, they probably won't but if you aren't moving, they'll never go outside the reticle. If they do, make a recording and submit it to player support as that shouldn't be happening.

There is a similar thread on the EU forum too so this might just be true.
Someone has even submitted screenshots.

Common sense?

And wg provided info?

The shell is supposed to land inside the reticle right? Or is it a decorative item like the non derp stock hetzer?

Could you link to the WG source for that please? I love learning about game mechanics and this one is new to me.

It's more of common sense. Less of WG

There is also a case with the new auto-aim, if you are playing at 100+ ping and enemy is moving fast at distance then the shell will go outside the reticle.
There are also cases otherwise, but that IMO is due to rounding errors.

I would love to have an indication that will tell me how long till gun fully aims, and if it is fully aimed.

So, on the WoT PC wiki, the aiming circle is described as being 2 standard deviations. In other words, ~95% of shots will go within the circle, and the rest will go outside it. Movement changes the size of the circle but that's all.

The Blitz wiki (which hasn't been maintained in a long time and is no longer official per se, but you can still get to it via Google searches) describes the aiming circle as just being where your shots will go. That suggests 100% of shots should be within the circle, but that doesn't match anyone's in-game experience. As above, it says movement changes the size of the circle but doesn't say anything beyond that.

Hunting around, it seems like most of the people who get into the details of this stuff believe blitz functions the same as WoT PC, which also matches my anecdotal experience: about 1 shot in 20 goes outside the circle, with the rest within it and more likely to hit near the centre than near the edges.

I've noticed that too. More often than not, the shell, if its inside the reticle, it will deviate only a little from the centre though I've never experienced a shell going out of the reticle.

??? The aim time stat tells you that. and it's fully aimed when the circle stops shrinking.

Greens 0 / Reds 7 situation normal..
