Hey guys so ive gotten advice on buying a premium tank like the Y5 t34 or the Pz 5/4 and i am wondering if any of you can show me how trash/OP the tank is actually since the stats dont tell me much.

 

Note: i have already chosen my tank, all replys here will be ignored

It's the tier 5 one right? It's got bad armour for a tier 5 and doesn't have speed to help  compensate for that. It's only asset is it's gun. I haven't played it myself but haven't seen anyone play it nicely either

Save your gold and wait for them to sell a better one like the PZ IV/V, Krupp or Anko (though the latter was already recently on sale). The tech tree premiums are okay but nothing  really stands out. Perhaps the Matilda is the best of them though. The HTs are decent but would not fancy them against BDR or T1.

Matilda IV is okay.  Good gun depression and a bouncy turret.  It's slow, though, and the armour is not impressive.

 

Most of the regular tech tree mediums are better.  If you are decided on getting a tier 5 premium medium tank, the Pz V/IV and T-25 are both better tanks than the Matlida IV.

So i have now been contemplating between the panzer 5/4 and the T14, which is the better one?

T14 also doesn't have armour though it is fast as compared to other heavies. I'd suggest the 5/4 better mobility, workable armour and a good gun

Because Excelsior and Matilda IV have good gun depression, it is a good training tank to learn about gun depression before you go to higher tiers.

 

I don't think any other tank in tier 5 has that much gun depression.

which one is the better one? i can get the excelsior at a discount now but am not sure whether to hold for pz 5/4 or get excelsior immediately

If I were you I would save my gold to buy myself a tog, but nevertheless, pz.5/4 is good. Don't take my advice seriously

The tog needs experience to drive. A lot of it and you should be familiar with the tier 6 and 7 meta. So much so that you know the average range of penetration of each tanks. The tog seems good but it's huge profile and soft sides make it tough to drive.

Tru, but i only have 2k gold even after all my saving and whatsnot, plus they might remove the y5 series before i can buy it

I've seen a TOG in action. the gun looks good enough, but i sold the churchill for a reason, it seems to me that the TOG is a premium churchill 7 thats just way bigger and slower. even my old kv-1 is way faster than that, and i still had to sell it due to its horrendous winrate

In my opinion:

 

Firefly

Rampanzer

Y5 T34

 

In that order. The firefly is tier 6 though but is the best of the 3 Y5 tanks. The Y5 tanks were the 5th birthday celebration tanks (hence Y5). The Rampanzer (PZ 5/4) is still one of the best tier 5 premium tanks, so would go for that if tier 5 is what you want.

Sure, but Y5 vs Pz 5/4? I need to choose soon cos the y5 series will end in 5 days or so

Strv has 15 degrees of gun depression, but i don't think anything else beats the 14 degrees of the Matilda 4.

 

OP, just get the Rampanzer already ...
