I'm struggling in mine, too. I know it's not a bad tank, because I've seen what erwin10001 can do in his, I just haven't found the key to getting the same results.

I think I might get used to it, but generally I don't do well with fast lightly armored tanks. slow(ish) powerful tanks are my thing. I need time to think in a game, and I like slow moving games that involve strategy.

for me there is no key. I would never get the same results as him if I played for a million years! :(

I believe erwin played it mostly before it got a nerf. I believe the penetration got reduced so it would be much less effective than when I grinded it.

Edit: I see he has played it 500 times in the past month so that theory is out the window. We need the master to tell us what is really going on with the leopard.

It got buffed significantly in the last update, I thought. that's why we see so many of them in games now.

I love leopard. I believe erwin will say play leopard like a ninja; aggressively spot without being spotted and kill enemy from behind. I hope leopard got more buff

Yes, it got a major buff in the last update.

For 1 thing, it now fires 4 rounds per burst ("shells per shot" the tech tree says) with 3 bursts [with the best gun].

This raises it's DPM to at least 1572.

For comparison, DPM for the Pz V/IV, which I used to think was slightly OP, is 1356. That's about 15% less.

Now as I play the PZ, I would say it has been terribly powercrept and is average at best any more. The stats on BlitzStars don't seem to agree with me, at least not yet, but this is what I've observed in my own games.

In my Tier 5 games now, I look to target the Leopards first because they might be the most dangerous in good hands.

From tooning with Erwin, he takes up some unusual (and very effective) positions. He is also very good at reading the flow of battle and reactive play, and he doesn't hesitate to play his tank out of role if that'll be more effective at that moment.

For example, if the heavy tanks on his team are camping and won't move up, he may spot aggressively in a thin-skinned TD so the heavies at least have the opportunity to shoot, even if they won't move like they should.

Basically, where all of us complain about dopey team mates, Erwin *also* works out ways to get the best advantage out of whatever dopey moves his team mates do.

I actually learnt a lot from tooning with many good players including Aazim, Boss, xx_yolo__xx. etc, sadly many have said goodbye and uninstalled. Still the event was tough for the Vk16 - that was my main clementine grinding tank, and the 30day winrate fell below 65%. (my overall is still >65%)

For Leo, you can't really bounce shots, so you need to have a sufficient hp pool in order to carry during the endgame, so your starting positions have to be 'low-risk' positions. The classic example is Mines. Initially I rushed hill in Mines, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, there really wasn't sufficient consistency in terms of winrate in Mines, and more importantly, i was either 'dead' or too low hp to contribute to the 'end game'.  So I now take a different position in Mines, with a view to preserving hp for the end game.

Even when platooning an aggressive Leo player like Aazim, i do not go side by side even though that maximises damage. I hang back to try to deal with any threats to Aazim's side and rear, while at the same time still targetting the same tank Aazim is targetting.

Because I sit back at the start in a very mobile Leo, I am also able to target good red team players for special attention. For example, if red team has a seal-clubbing Leo platoon, I anticipate their likely moves and try to get them to overreach and fall into the guns of our HT that are camping at spawn....  If a Leo plat sees a solo Leo apparently out of position, the natural instinct is to hunt down and kill that solo Leo, even at the expense of ignoring the fact that you might end up badly out of position.

I'm getting used to it, and I think I'll even do ok with it. the clue is to not get shot! the gun and mobility are great, but u just can't absorb hits.

edit/update: I sold it and bought free exp to get the two VK's. I couldn't bear it any longer, lol!

People play leopard in yolo mode. You don’t have to spot everything. Sure in lights you should try to spot but not if it means dying in the first 30 seconds. Keep moving stay in as much cover as possible and shoot everything in the rear or side. If you don’t empty clip reload anyway.

Ok, managed to 'repair' my winrate which was damaged by the event, back to 30-day winrate of 65%. Don't focus on damage but on spotting for your HT which are camping behind bush at spawn, thinking they are TD.

I think as time passes and the effects of the event go away, my winrate is able to repair itself  :harp:

Its fairly obvious to anyone that events really cause the game to become unplayable and totally one sided.

30day winrate repair continues!

65% -> 66.39% -> 68.70%!

Very happy that Aazim is back online! With his help, 70% is achievable!

I played the Leopard pre-buff but I think the thing I hated about it is still there - constantly getting tracked!

I hope (and think) the VKs don't have this problem.
