WG hates me :(

Today's wr 27.27% after 22 games! I might as well just keep starting game after game and be afk. I'd get a higher wr. I'll never understand why the reds are always the better team. On the law of averages it shouldn't be so. MM is biased somehow.

 

edit: now down to 24%. I give up!

 

edit 2: changed servers. now I'm at 62.5% after 8 games. crazy!

 

If only WG would find a way to put players of equal skill level against each other, this game would be so much better, and far less frustrating.

Have you heard of rating battles?

 

sure the problem is that unrated players may imbalance the game, the easy solution is to allow players to keep their ratings instead of resetting them constantly. this will ensure more players are rated and allow balancing to take place.

yes, that is a problem. had a game yesterday with three unrated players on our team

 

the easy solution is to allow players to keep their ratings instead of resetting them constantly. this will ensure more players are rated and allow balancing to take place.

 

why doesn't WG do that?

If you were matched with players of the same skill level all the time everybody's win rate would be around 49% accounting for draws

And why would that matter? I want to have good games! and there would still be wins and losses, and short runs of wins or losses, because there are other variables such as making a wrong decision or just plain bad (or good) luck. but losing streaks of 10 (or more), and the frustration and anger that goes with them, would be a thing of the past, thankfully!

If you just want to have good games why do you keep mentioning your win rate and blame MM for your win rate? How do you intend you quantify players skill for your matchmaking? By win rate? If everyone has 49% then you will be in exactly the same boat as you think you are now. Win/loss streaks would still occur

I'll explain the way I think.

 

There are 60% players because there are 40% players. There are 2k average damage players because there are 500 average damage players. There is 2.0 kill ratio players because there are 0.5 kill ratio players.

 

So if you put 60%ers against 60%ers they will mostly drop to 50%. If you put 2k average damage players against 2k average damage players they will mainly drop to 1000. If you put 2.0 kill ratio against 2.0 kill ratio they will mainly drop to 1. If you put 40%ers against 40%ers then they will mainly rise to 50%. If you put 500 average damage players against 500 average damage players they will mainly rise to 1k. If you put 0.5 kill ratio players against 0.5 kill ratio players they will mainly rise to 1.0. And so on.

 

Yes there will be some slight variation but eventually all players will come close together and we would be right back where we are now with a small bell curve around what is chosen to rate players skill. The win/loss streaks still the same as they are now.

 

Best thing I've found to do is have 5 losses in row maximum then take a break. Fighting angry effects your gameplay for the worse. Have a coffee then switch servers and play there.

so what you are saying is that if you are a 40%+ player like Tnkdestroyer, you are better off playing rating battle because your winrate be about 50%, but if a 60% player plays rating, his winrate is likely to be 50% as well.

Never played a ratings battle in 70k of battles so no idea how ratings work :-)

I love ratings battles. Just trying to mind my own business doing my missions: Win 3 Ratings battle. Ended up spending 1 hour hurhur.

If you toss a coin enough times, you'll get long streaks of heads or tails too.

Unlike us, a coin doesn't get angry, tired, sick, drunk or high, all of which skew the chance of winning in the wrong direction, making losing streaks a bit more likely and winning ones a bit less likely.

I can relate. I noticed I had a mission kill four tank destroyers, and I had three killed, so I was playing to kill one more. After a hour or more despite my best efforts I could not get it, so I just gave up!

 

edit:  so I get the last kill in just the second battle today. (sigh) the wotb gods must find us pitiful creatures so amusing.

This is why i like rating battles. the chance aspect is largely removed.

Consider platooning with a good player. It helps with frustration as well. Second option is to drive OP tanks.

If you want to plat with me I play around 9:30 pm - 1:30 am Singapore Standard Time(I live in India btw).

Yes, but there is a HUGE difference between "coin" and WG's coin.

If you get 20 streak more than 2 times while tossing continuously for 10 years, there sure is something wrong with your coin. You can check that out at random.org and try to find a 20 streak in a random sequence. Then compare with what you see in blitz.

That would be the bit where your coin gets frustrated and plays on tilt, I think. Also I think (not 100% sure) that the WG coin generally comes up heads a bit less than 50% anyway, since sometimes it lands on its edge.

I tend to play tanks I like playing, not necessarily ones I'l particularly good with, which doesn't help with stats I guess. but I don't play for stats I play for fun

Thanks for that. I appreciate it. however, just a couple of things. your starting time is about my bedtime (three hours ahead), and I mostly play my NA account. so paltooning together would be problematical. however, I could probably find someone good in my clan.

it's maybe everybody's problem,,,,,, i have a post suggesting that it would be good if the match making will be based on battles counts,,,,,, the win rate is sometimes not a good bases because some players with low battle counts has high win rate but goes down after competing a lot of games. so i suggest the battle counts or numbers must be a good bases for match making to be fair...... of course how could a beginner manage to win over a veteran player?    if a player has a high number of battles, even the win rate is low i think the player has a lot of experience to use managing the games especially the endgame.

for me i am unrated because i dont wanna wait and remember the time of rating battles,, that's not the most important for me,,,maybe i would play with it if they make it available at all times like before
