the aquisition of crew skills is measured both in battles remaining and green stars needed. I don't get it. how can WG know how many battles it will take to reach a level when the amount of green stars earned per battle varies, according to success, damage, boosters, etc., ?

Best to look at it as an estimate. When you use booster, 80 remaining matches to master a crew skill, for example, can go to like 69 or so in one successful battle.

I think it is an estimate based on your average xp.

From what i can tell the green boosters are useful for new tanks with less than 100% crew skills. After crew skills reach 100% for a tank then the green boosters are no longer useful for that tank.

In which case having a higher tier Mentor crew skill comes in handy, I presume.

I'm not following. you've already said that boosters work for training crew skills, which can only happen once 100% is reached. so they work for reaching the 100% level and then work for the crew levels.

I`m not sure on the latter. Might have to look deeper into the effects of Crew XP boosters for actually leveling up your crew skill. Sorry if I mislead you.

The debate on the relative usefulness of mentor skill continues. ggl it for a long read.

As best I can tell, the break even point is quite long term, like after 45,000 battles and you have to forego other skills and only drive MTs to grind it.

Selective use of XP bonuses and XP boosters is a faster way to grind up new tanks IMO.

Do you reap rewards if boosters are fitted and you lose?
