1.Stay un spotted more so if they enemy have derp guns like the Su152, KV-2, KV-1S

2. Hid in bushes or places where you can duck behind cover.

3. Its a mobile TD re position as much as you can.

4. Look at your map! Keep tabs on where the enemy lights are.

I did this and the Hellcat became one of my few favorite TD's .

How I grinded the tank:

1. Second gun

2. Top engine

3. Top turret

4. Top Gun

5 Tracks.

Shoot and scoot tactics works best. Avoid derp guns like a plague unless you have no other choice. Use gun depression to minimize exposure and mobility to relocate often. 76mm gun works as a DPM gun whereas the 90mm gun makes the Hellcat a true shoot and scoot sniper.

Also don't get into too much brawls as your armor is tissue paper and your turret traverse can be painfully slow

the meta changed, hellcat was nerfed to the depths. its mobility is not that good, even the stug outpreforms it now. the gun reload is significantly songer so you cannot deal that much damage unless you do really well and your team does not do anything. otherwise i agree what you said

Three words: Hit and Run.

Seriously, unless you are blessed with skills that allows you to brawl in any tank, consider brawling as suicide in a Hellcat.

Use and abuse it's camo rating. The speed is essentially just for getting to good spots first and for bugging out. The Hellcat has been discussed time and again here OP, you might want to tank a look at older threads. Oh and one last thing, the mark of great Hellcat driver is knowing when to shoor, when to scoor, when to stay still and when to take risks.

Happy hunting!

Having used the Hellcat eversince I started playing, I could not tell the difference. That aside, for as long as I stick to the tried and trusted rules of engagement of the Hellcat (and turreted TDs) I do mostly fine.

To be fair to your observations, I rarely push the Hellcat to it's limits on account of its legendary tissue paper armor so my mileage may vary to yours. That being said, I can't blame you if you think the speed is horrible as its currently being matched up to all those lightning bruiser type speedsters and premiums that it appears to have lost it's legendary speed advantage.

Based on what you've told me so far, it appears that you are familiar with the time that the Hellcat was considered OP in the sense that it can act like an LT/MT that carries a big gun :)

Back in the day lots of people struggled with the Hellcat due to a big change in the tier spread and resulting change in playstyle after the T49/T67. The T49 was so good at its tier that it could go with the LTS and MTS on full assault rather than acting as a mobile TD further back. This didnt translate well with the Hellcat that now had derpy guns everywhere and less mobility. Players had to somehow reign in how they had been playing the T49 when using the Hellcat and this was difficult to do - especially because the Hellcat was still fairly mobile.

That said, if you were able to do this, the Hellcat was still an excellent tank at its tier.

With the rather large population of Hellcat drivers, getting an M in it is rather tough. On the other hand, I assune you are already seasoned enough to have already bagged the M-Badge for the Kitty. If not yet, then I'm sure its just around the corner. After all, most of us will never know when a Mastery Badge will coming knocking on our door :)

i am seasoned with american BBQ sauce m8. and i agree with you that the masteries that come are a little bit inconsitent because you need to be able to carry your team let alone win most of the time to get it.

I'm good in it, 60%wr, get ace tanker very often. It's a tricky tank but fun.
I think the key is to be the spotter for the team early on, so the team knows where the enemy is spread onto. And then going back to nice sniping locations OR doing midrange peek a boo with the support of your team. And its camo is very good so Don't shoot if an enemy is too close. It's always better not to let the enemy know where the Hellcat is.
