Should i use this tank with the stock turret? It has much more armour but can only mount the stock gun.

It depends on whether you can deal with the 105mm gun doing almost nothing unless spamming HEAT premmo and whether you can keep your flanks clear. Both the stock and top turret in practice is just as tough up front, it's the sides and rear that made the difference, with top turret being just as thinly armored as standard Sherman turret fron the sides and rear.

erm actually theres also difference in armour for the front of the turret for top and stock. The top turret has weaker frontal turret armour (referring to the parts not covered by gun mantlet.

it depends whether you want to play hulldown with a gun with worse rof or play like a normal mt with better gun but weaker turret armour

Good luck on the battlefield! May RNGesus be with you.

Well, I guess there's that. Then again, the mantlet covers most of the turret front, so like I said, in practice it can tank shots just as well as the first turret unless you're unlucky enough to take in shots at the front turret edges.

The 105 was removed from the game though, right?

Yeah. Derp.

The 76mm M1A1 isn`t bad though. Just slightly worse handling than the later M1A2 but perfectly adequate IMO if you can live with the mediocre pen for its tier.
