So just a few moments ago, I shot this WT auf. Pz. IV, with HE on my Kpfpz 70. NOTE: this is not a rant about RNG, it is about the average alpha on the kpfpz.

547 damage with a low roll really??

This tank has 640 alpha. On its HE. While having a 152mm and having a 15-16 second reload at tier 9.

In comparison, the KV-2 does 640 on its AP rounds. And 960 on its HE rounds. For a closer comparison, even the T49's 152mm Gun-launcher XM81 (Conventional) does 780 on its HE shells, while taking a similar time to reload, if not shorter.

The penetration is not amazing either, on par with the Obj. 140 and T-62A on its standard APCR shell.

What do you guys think?

Russian Bias™ KV-2 vs Nerfed Germans™ KpfPz 70

152mm vs 152mm

640 alpha vs 560 alpha (Standard rounds)

960 alpha vs 640 alpha (HE rounds)

Tier 6 vs Tier 9

1669 DPM vs 1907 DPM (Standard rounds, without any provisions, equipment)

2503 DPM vs 2179 DPM (HE rounds, without any provisions, equipment)

7 Degrees vs 6 Degrees (Gun depression)

0.16 vs 0.20 (Dispersion while turning turret)

I mean, why play the kpf, when KV-2 can do better?

fun facts:
Kpf has the worst DPM in tier 9

Kpf is also the least accurate tier 9 tank

lol, where is all the Blitz programming expertise and stats analysis on this, or will this issue be 're-balanced' in 3 patches time

no one is allowed to 're-balance ' the poor KV 2         ;)

The armor is good and has good alpha for tier ix HT. Stop complaining or sell it.

Had only one match so far, Winter Malinovka, south spawn. Used Calibrated Shells instead of Gun Rammer. Killed 1 IS-6 and 1 Type 61. Earned 959 xp and did 2541 damage, used the gentle slope on the windmill area to hull down. Also helped by having a team that actually know how to hold ground properly.

It does have -6 of gun depression, but its overall height is about the same as T-54 ltwt and IS-3, and the gun's fulcrum is further forward so it's actually not too bad.

As for the slow reload, either have some friends around or keep your distance. This tank like most US heavies shines from a good and proper defensive position at the start of match
