IS-7 If you like close brawling and can use the pike nose effectively, IS-4 if you prefer a bit of distance and good sidescraping. If you don't know what you play better grind both lines until Tier 8 (IS-3 and KV-4) They're both good at teaching you the IS-7 and IS-4

i find that most light tanks die within the first minute of the game. For some reasons, the AMX series of light tanks are the most prone to suicide under 1 min.

If you go the KV1s route, just a heads-up, the IS uses the exact same gun as the KV-1S but with the chance of getting matched with higher tiers. The KV-1S was a roller coaster to ride, the IS? not so much. IS-3 grind is ridiculous too. IS-7 eats up your credits fast.

Currently grinding and eliting: T25/2, SP I C, VK 30.01 P, Tiger I, Jagdtiger, SU-85,  Centurion I

Premiums: T-25, Löwe, Valentine II, Light VIC

Kept: Stug III G, KV-2, Comet

I find the IS much more enjoyable than the KV-1s. KV-1s reload time is too long.  There's no way I can get 60% in kv-1s with that sort of reload time, compared to IS where achieving 60% was much easier.

I have never bought or played any of the regular Russian tanks but have fought against them all. Have a few British/Russian premiums.

You need quite a bit of skill to use a slow KV 2 well, once you master that the next ones should be much easier. I often play the slow tier V Churchill III to keep my heavy/slow skills up.

I was going to show you how bad I was doing in the IS but it turns out I was doing fine in it. I guess My main gripe with the IS is that its gun is basically the same (except the fact that it fires faster), it gets matched with higher tiers, moves slower (I think? It feels slower at least), and not much improvement on the armor.

Well, I guess it's personal preference then. That or I'm just one helluva seal-clubber. It just feels so satisfying to blast tier 5 tanks with 400 damage on 175 AP pen. :justwait:

Fast tanks reach enemy quicker when in yolo mode.

If KV1 went 70kmh then you would see it do the same, but it at least has HP and armor.

It is the combo of slow reload and relatively light armor, less HP.

I try to hit then move during reload. But it is a challenge. When you learn the style it makes IS easier.

Clarrisse - advice to grind both lines is good.

IS8 will be challenging.

STI is great.

K1s is challenging.

You learn useful things with all of them.

Grind both lines, but make sure you go through the IS-3/8 line first and get the BL-9 at the very least on the IS-3, otherwise you can have to grind the ST-I with the same gun on the IS at Tier 7, which is pathetic.

Funny thing is my WR in KV-1S is just a whisker from 60% using mainly the 122mm D-2-5-T, whereas my WR in IS kinda sucked IMO (56.15% vs over 63% in both T29 and KV-3). Granted this was WAY back a couple years back when the power creep isn`t this bad and we still get -2/+2 MM spread, no provision and the 3 Tier equipment.
