I'm currently trying to grind a new tank tech tree on my main acc and was wondering if the Japanese tanks were worth grinding. I've seen the Japanese tanks perform well but not sure if it is worth the grind.

Thank you in advance

Definitely support playstyle for the meds all the way. [Japanese] tanks aren't designed to brawl and carry on a consistent basis so avoid taking damage early on. No YOLOs or get busted fast.

What tier are you at? I'm currently at tier IV and finding the Chi He to be a slow grind to the Chi Nu.

I already have the STB-1. The Japanese line is ok, but I struggled with STA-1 and Type 61.

STA and 61 are horribly bad. Don't waste your time and troll your team.

My friend told me STA was good. High pen means more ammoracks. But he also said type61is the hardest

Yo, My first tech was Japanese series.

Actually, Japanese tanks are paper tanks you needs passions to handle them. They are not tank for the front they are just for Hide n shoot.

My highest tier of Japanese is T-X STB-1 Adamant.

If you want reviews on Japanse tanks check my channel out.

But I must suggest you, don't get Japanese tanks they are just good looking nothing else.

Now I'm worried for the Chi Ri.

I just hope it's not going to be the Luchs situation again. (I wanted to get my hands on the seal clubbing machine known as the Leopard but due to the Luchs slow speed it completely killed any remaining motivation I had to grind through the Luchs).

Stock gun has bad pen anyway. the top gun can do 450dmg with 8 sec reload max crew.

Good turret, but stb is a pain of grind, moreover stb gun is the worst in t10 mediums. The leopard gun is a beast. Stb is slower as well

You got to try the teir 3 light tank.... It's a laugh if nothing else! But only at teir 6 now, so can't really comment...

STB pros and cons

Pros:

-Great turret with low profile

-Gun depression is -10

-Good DPM

-High view range

-Good traverse

-Great camo value

cons:

-Cannot sidescrape against 152mm and above unless you have suspension upgrade

-Weak hull and frequent transmission damage

-Low acceleration for a medium

-Below par accuracy

-Below average pen gun of 245

Tips: Always avoid fv215 183b

Up to and including tier 4, they are relatively nimble gun platforms with little armour.  Lots of fun.  Don't skip them.

Chi Nu at tier 5 is a middling medium - okay mobility, no armour, decent gun, outstanding gun depression.  Fun on ridgelines.

Chi To at tier 6 is like the Chi Nu without the mobility or gun depression.  Enough said.

Chi Ri at tier 7 is a blast, at least once you get the autoloader.  480 burst damage in 2 seconds?  What's not to love about that?  Just don't get shot, and the damage piles up.

I haven't gone past tier 7 yet.  Scared off by the negative talk about STA and type 61.  Someday . . .

Oh, and if they ever put the Chi Nu Kai (Shinobi) on sale again, buy it.  It's a Chi Nu with Chi To turret, and an insane 230% credit coefficient.  Easily makes 20-30K credits on a loss, 70-80K on a good win.
