Hi Everyone

 

This is going to be a long rant, snowflakes please stay off. Now I got that aside, let me begin.

 

TLDR version: With the recent release of the tier 7 Lupus, WG should stuff their fingers up their [edited].

 

I'm going to admit, I bought the Lupus. After I saw HJG's video, I thought to myself  "Hey, this looks like an mediocre-okay tank." So, I bought it. My expectations of it..were exceeded far too greatly.

 

The disadvantages of the tank are only low dpm, bad accuracy and low penetration. That's it. Nothing else.

Advantages of it? High alpha, sidescrape monster, even without sidescraping armour is very strong even though it has some weakspots, great mobility and perhaps most important of them all- gun depression. The gun depression is so good for a rear mounted tank it makes the gun elevation look bad.  The tank has so many things going for it but yet the downsides are practically negligible. Two of the three disadvantages I pointed out can be removed if you are brawling at short to mid ranges. As for low penetration, it is so easy to join the mediums and flank because of the excellent mobility (for a heavy tank). Alternatively, you can just load APCR and forget about more damage (at least you are doing something right?).

Back in the old days, WG mentioned that premium tanks are similar to existing tanks available for free and they will be slightly less powerful than those existing tanks. Pfft. Seems like this policy has been abandoned already, with WG seeking to earn more money by selling P2W tanks. Oh, it is also a complete fantasy tank(although I don't mind too much, others will). So much for "historical accuracy". Saying "historical accuracy" exists in WoTB is like saying that the Russian mediums pre nerf weren't OP. Or the Lupus isn't OP. Or WoTB isn't a pay to win game. Or WG are being too greedy with their WoTB game.

 

I know it is hypocrisy in a way that I who bought a Lupus, is bashing WG for releasing an OP tank. Trust me, I severely underestimated how good the Lupus is, in HJG's review he made it seem to me it is a balanced tank.

 

Make this game great again by actually not releasing P2W tanks. The only praise I can give to WG is that the separate bundles with only 1 tank in it are not overloaded with useless boosters to bump up the cost.

Derp them in the face with a SU/ISU-152 or Borsig HEAT round on the lower glacis if you like. Lower glacis is less than 200mm effective from what I saw.

Bought, 2 games, 2 losses, team based losses since I got highest damage but it's not fast enough at the reload to turn around a game too much, but on stats, better than an IS, be good to see it on armour inspector, but I'd really stress to believe its OP, but I will watch HJG vid on it now lol

What you should be mad about is that they "accidentally" heavily discounted bundle on release. To increase sales, making people think they were getting an awesome deal. A few hours later they fixed the bundle price and put it up to the amount previously advised.

I know, and I promised myself I would not buy anything more following 3.hate but I could not resist 3 tanks for $39 Aud..and I don't think the deal was up for a few hours, more like 10 minutes.

The Lupus is basically weak to dpm tanks with accurate guns, but will wreck low pen and less dpm guns. The upper glacis is like the Helsing's.

Well at least we have a counter to those Russian heavies eh?

It is ugly, and so as the other fantashit tanks. They are as ugly and lousy as TOG*.....Toasted one last night, yay.

This tank is like a IS2 SH put in tier 7, and what you get is a better tank tier for tier.

While the Lupus seems strong, the inability of players to fight against a stronger tank shows how many beginners there are even at tier 7. There are probably the same people who parked their light tank in front of a Hetzer at tier 4, and did it again at tier 5 by parking in front of an AT2.

 

Seriously, even though I told the team not to, we had a team of tier 7 heavies that instead of doing a sidescraping battle, deciding to do peek-a-boom against an entire enemy team with Lupus/Nameless just sitting there and taking shots at the enemy whenever they popped up. Our team didn't make much of a dent in a Lupus because in peekaboom they didn't have much time to aim and the big circle meant they might hit a non-penetrating spot. So slowly but surely, they bled their HP down to 0. 

 

This is the same behaviour i see at tier 4 where light tanks try to peek-a-boom against a Hetzer front armor even though they are unlikely to pen. In other words, these players never improve, they just press battle till they get the next tier tank....

Yet another reason for me to stay at tier 5/ tier 6. I get to play against 'real' tanks like M4 Sherman, T-34, KV-1, Crusader, etc.

Even the fantasy tanks like GuP Hetzer/ Pz IV/ Kuro are based on real tanks so not really objectionable.

Only seen one so far.

 

Sidescrape/brawl/peek a boom in my KV-1S, and it eventually killed me.

 

But because I tied it up, and the rest of my team was competent enough to chew up the rest of their team while I took away most of it's health, it was a one shot when it killed me.

 

Considering I was a tier down, and with 400hp less, I'd consider it a decent result on my part, and a team win so that'll do. I took more off it than it took off me and I was unlucky enough to find it and have to deal with it. 

 

It'll be something to fear when folks who have them know how to use them, and it will become a target at which point we'll all know how to kill one. Kind of like a Helsing, which when driven competently is a bit of a monster, but driven incompetently gets smashed in short order.

 

It's out there, folks have bought them. Whaddya gonna do besides make them regret their purchase by pulling them to pieces? In many cases, folks who will buy them probably shouldn't be driving them so you get the same thing with Kuros where you end up with a couple on your team, and you hope one of them knows what they're doing.
