I myself, had 5 tickets, so bought 3 more, and with those took one Legendary Chest which gave me a "Pz.Kpfw. B2 740 (f)" - a Tier 4 tank,
and then a Standard Chest, which gave me a "Pz. Kpfw. S35 739 (f)" - a Tier 3 tank.
They're not terrible, for me - given that I'm pushing through Levels 5 & 6, but in true fairground fashion - its a bit disappointing not to win the displayed Prize... ..... nice to feel like a Kid again
Enjoy !

Got carried away and bought 4 more tickets - both resulted in Credits only at the Standard level....

Eh... don't worry... From the height of tier 10... I got 3 tetrarch, 1 B2 and 1 S35 (all of which I preowned) plus around 1M credit and a week worth of premium days. Not too bad you might say but when you're expecting results like Gandalf... It is a bit frustrating. This is my luck but I can't really complain.

That sounds pretty good, but how many crates did you open? Legendary ones I presume...?

In my case (going after the T-34-85 Victory), I purchased only Legendary crates:
- I first purchased 10 crates with converted Free XP and got the B2, the Starchaser, premium days and credits.
- With the first 6 tickets from the mission stages I purchased one more crate and got credits.
- With the second 6 tickets from the mission stages I purchased another crate and got credits again.
- On Christmas Eve I received an iTunes voucher and splurged, buying 10 crates in one go (the batch purchase). The first 9 were all premium days and credits but the 10th was the Victory (they arrange the results that way when you purchase a batch, with the vehicles at the end).
So, that's 22 crates to get the Victory.
In my son's case (he wanted the Defender), he was saving his tickets in the hope of the price dropping enough to purchase it on auction. That did not happen, of course. He went for the 45 tickets at the final stage, instead of the Swedish tank.
- He bought a couple of standard crates during the mission stages (we can't recall how many) but didn't get anything memorable.
- At the end, he had 58 tickets, enough to purchase 9 Legendary and 2 Standard crates. He bought a batch of 5 Legendary crates and got premium days and credits. He then bought 4 Legendary crates, one at a time, and got the Defender in the second last one.
So, that's 9 Legendary crates to get the Defender, which is incredibly lucky.
I wouldn't recommend spending gold unless you desperately want one of the tanks and are prepared to gamble but it is a good feeling to get something you really want from a crate. Such is the allure of gambling and winning, I suppose.

I've got another 3 standard crates (just started not that much free xp). 1 out of 3 seems to be something 'more' than 100k credits.
3crates: 100k/ 100k/ Tetrach
3crates: 100k/3 days premium / Tetrach
3crates: 100k/100k/ Pz S35
3crates: 100k/ 1 day premium / 5 days premium

Not a problem at all. I hope you get what you want from the crates.

"Best" is always going to be subjective but it arguably tops the table on the combination of credit earning and ease of play. It's not my favourite of the premiums in the crates but then I don't care about rushing to the higher tiers. If you want to play tier 8, it's surely the most friendly tank on offer for the inexperienced player.
