When I first started I went constantly YOLO in light tanks. I blew up several times, but gained essential skills in dodging enemy fire and shooting on the move :)

Then I decided to try to guess who were good players on our team and follow them to learn from them. I also try to follow good players when driving TDs. I find that using a TD as a mobile fire support platform for good players is far more effective than simply camping on the larger maps (small maps can camp). By having a TD close to the action, you are also better able to observe enemy behaviour and if the time comes for the TD to carry, you have an idea which are the more dangerous threats that you should engage first, and whether they have any weaknesses like predictable behaviour.

After getting some basic skills, I watched some Ace Mastery games to understand how to Ace particular tanks. I still have not Aced the popular ones like A-20, KV-1, Hetzer, T3-4 still trying.  I mainly Ace the less popular tanks....

Sounds like you're on a roll...  If you have any videos that you found useful, why not start posting them here ? Indeed, could be useful for others to chip in too.

Hi, I usually watch Bushka/Hughbert Jaas and a little bit of Warchild. I think there are subscriber replays where players send it their best games (usually Ace Mastery), so that would be a good starting point for figuring out how to Ace a certain tank. But the popular tanks are really hard to Ace (A20 / T-34 / Stug III still haven't Aced)

I finally Aced Marder II. In the end, all I needed was a lot of damage, meaning it had to be a tier 3/4 game since the tier 4 tanks have more hp to give me (thank you DW2 and B2!).

these ones are also good: Sk8xtrm and Martin Dogger. The former more than the later but both may help you now that you are starting

Good luck and tons of fun!

Thanks for the video recommendations. Bushka has a new set of videos called "How to get to 60Wr." Anyway, I helped someone with tier 3 platoon since I finished getting Blaze (as I am tier 5 no chance of Glacial) and finally got Ace Mastery as a nice bonus.

Got my Wolverine Ace.  The team was 5 x tier 6 / 2 x tier 5 tanks. No way I can brawl with tier 6 in a Wolverine. I recall watching Bushka play Rockfield when demonstrating how to "reset camo" and decided to follow him and it worked. At least my team didn't die before I got into position.

Now that New Moon is over, I am grinding the US Medium line to get the M4 Sherman.... I avoided starting the grind earlier as missions will reset to the tier of the tank you just bought.....

ACE MASTERY WITH A LOSS :)

Just have to admit that weekends are unplayable without platoon. This is a typical non-platoon game loss on a weekend.  Ace Mastery/Ace/High Caliber/Radley-Waters .... still lose because whole team just died without hardly any resistance.

This is the 4th game of a 4 game losing streak. I got the highest damage in all of the 4 losses and one other game also High Caliber, but its not enough to win when MM is against you.

You're doing so well, Erwin. Good for you! I know it's frustrating to contribute so much and still lose game after game but your skill, determination and smarts will see you win plenty overall.

Just to round it off with an earlier T40 mastery with only 2 kills, strange story behind this.

There was a Tier 5 PzIV/V player who followed behind me from a distance and sniped my kills. I had to do all the spotting and fighting. We were seriously the last 2 tanks left and he was still following me around....

After the game, I checked his stats, he had 16000 games, 48% WR, damage ratio of less than 1.0..... but a lot of premium tanks :)

Very hard to get Ace Mastery for Popular tanks like SU-85 -  Kolobanov/Pools/High Caliber not enough. (credits are from completing first class mission)

My 2nd Raiseinial. I didn't know I was on course for one which is probably the best because one can become too self-conscious about such things and try too hard.

First one was also with T-34. But this Rassie was tougher. The enemy took out 5 of our team, leaving us 4 v 2. Fortunately the other friendly was a KV-1 that attracted their attention and stayed alive long enough for me to kill the remaining 4 tanks.

Now that the French event is over, I can go back to developing my skills in the lower tiers. I find that playing in t5/6 has helped my gameplay so when I revisit tanks like the T82, i actually have a better understanding of how to play it properly.

Managed to Ace Stug before Su-85 even though my Su-85 has 2 Kolobanovs.

I have gotten higher damage before, but I guess the extra xp is for more active actions?
