hi there, I'm new to this but:

after playing the Jagdpanzer IV for around 123 battles, I throughly enjoyed it and aced that tank 4 times despite being not so good at this game. However, as I was reading the forums, people said the Jagdpanther was a great tank. Immediately after buying the tank I decided to give it a spin: 1 win and 6 loss. I died every time. How am I supposed to play this tank? I have the top engine from the VK30.01D and immediately and the short 88 on the Jagdpanther. At battle I was easily spotted half a map away and got pounded with shells shot by stealth ninjas everywhere. Is there any tips for you to suggest? Thanks in advance

Get a camo net and binocs. You should have at least trained some td perks. Use the 88 cm and snipe from a distance. Always remember to fall back into cover when you're spotted. As a final note : beware of light tanks.

For crew skill, I'm currently farming camo as I found it useful in the stealthstar Jagdpanzer IV. Is it useful for the Jagdpanther in this case? Also, is camouflage an essential for running the Jagdpanther?

edit: I also only have a 52% crew...

Get the 75 crew first!!! And yes, camo and camo net are essential for JPanther as it cant afford to take hits. Snipe, snipe, snipe.

Btw, if you do need help, shoot me a platoon request, im free all day

well, certainly already farming crew and got a rammer, who needs a camo net when you have a 88L/71 that can snipe people from half a map away? anyways, I'm starting to pick up pace and played slightly differently but still similarly like the Jgpz IV, GOT a 1st class and a few credits with the free premium recently

Hope you always get those places to sit in and shoot "half a map away". Good luck with that. Rammer, camo net and bino, whats wrong with this setup?

Always spend the credits for the 75% Crew. It affects more than what is shown on the Crew Skills page-including your Camo rating!

Get the 8.8cm L/71 ASAP, then the tracks. I personally didn't like the 10.5cm gun but others swear by it.

I run Rammer, Camo & Optics. I chose Optics over Binos, as I often find myself running with the Mediums, but still have the Camo Net for when it looks like sniping is the better, early option.

Using Binos & Optics, or Camo & Binos are two very good set-ups as well, and if you're more comfortable in a sniping role, are much better. The first set-up is very useful for the 'carry' when you'll be moving and stopping to ambush the last few Reds, while the second one is great for the pure sniping role.

The moment you think you may be spotted you need to relocate-don't wait for the lightbulb to go off, and don't try to damage trade.

It's armour can be bouncy, so if you're caught out, wiggle the hull from side-to-side, and hope RNG is on your side.

Be aware that decent players will take blindshots at known TD 'campsites'.

Load up on Small & Large Repair Kits, with Adrenaline.

Provide your Crew with Double Chocolate, get the Big Fuel, and be prepared to fire some Prammo.

Most of all, however, is spend the credits on the 75% Crew!

1.) Try sniping in high ground.

2.) Whenever you attack anyone, never show your sides! Show them your front.

3.) Never attack alone.

5.) Camp in bushes. Gives you more chance of not getting spotted.

6.) Regroup and stay with your team.

I'm not the best myself, but the advice I gave you works great for me. :)

There is no need to fear light tanks as you turn fast enough for them to not be a problem.

I kinda digress there. Maybe it can turn with mediums, but with lights unless you can get your back on a wall or something sometimes it`s very hard to deal with lights

Im just playing on my jagdpanther lately. I sucked so bad that I had to switch to the SU line after the bitter 40%WR on this tank before. Its only now that I'm starting to enjoy it.

1. LTs are the real problem. I hate LTTB getting to me. Even the [edited] so best go with your HTs if there's an LT in the team. Chances are they will see you and they will kill you as Liam Neeson said in the movie.

2. As all say, camo net is the key and bushes. Its not as stealthy as the GUderian duck plus the view range isnt as great as the Stug so go for binocs as well.

3. Use the L70 gun, it may not have a higher alpha but the DPM and pen is awesome. Im using the L70 gun lately after dusting it off and it works wonders. Its like a punchier version of the 8.8cm panthers.

4. Understand that you can't carry battles with this tank. Not like the Su152.

5. TD crew skill is the key. I think. This is my first Tier VII TD since playing WOT Blitz and my TD crew skills are still low so that might have been one factor.

6. Be tactically aware. if you have tons of HT in the team, go with them, assault with them. Or if the map permits it, find a nice spot and pew pew ur way to the opfors. If you're mostly MTs or LTs, go with MTs since this has decent speed and then halfway, find a spot to shoot the opfor without totally be away from the team. Move constantly.

7. Its a credit printer of a TD for tier 7. I think most damage i dealt with this TD is 2100 and I had like 30k or a bit higher on 2x event.

Let me teach you guys a little. Jpanther is huge. Do not try to hide it. Use the 105. Not the 88. Why? Because you will get spotted when you fire so you want to do more damage before taking cover. Play this like a mobile sniper, but not like the panther, you need to shoot and hide because the large 105 ruins your camo when you fire. On small maps where you cannot snipe like copperfield or fort despair, go with your teams mediums. You have the mobility to keep up with them and the gun to take out heavily armour tanks that your meds cannot (like a Tiger P or IS following the enemy meds).

LOL yep. People don't carry repair kits and when they do it takes them 7 seconds to activate it. Yep. Sure.

Good players with fast tanks can get behind you in less than 2 seconds after they blow your track in close quarters engagement, and if they go track-to-track with you there`s no way they`ll survive the CoD reaming in most cases. Forget 7 seconds, if you go up against these fast tanks, they blow your tracks and went straight for the kill, you`re pretty much SOL. If they play peek-a-boom with you after they blow your tracks, then maybe.

Thanks all!

A few months ago I moved on to the JPanther II and then, the Jagdtiger. Can't believe how much I miss the JPanther. Thanks to all your tips, nailed a few ace tankers and quite a good WN8 rating for it! Can't wait to move to the JPE100 soon :P
