Random Number Generator. Since it generates random data numbers that contributed to a lot of stuff including shot missing or hitting, shots dealing low damage roll or high damage roll, and shots bouncing or penning, it is generally used as a common scapegoat whenever something goes wrong. Alternatively, used as a justification whenever you take a shot that has seemingly little chance to be effective but ends up penning and dealing big numbers anyway. Also known as Hand of Stalin in KV-2s (which requires mental sacrifice of political dissidents to work) and RNGesus by anything else.

"Fight to fly, fly to fight, FIGHT TO WIN!" - U.S Navy Fighter Weapons School TOPGUN.

"Nothing is right in tactics. A good fighter pilot must be free to propose improvements to his tactics or he will get himself killed." - Cmdr. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, USN.

"To be a good fighter pilot, there's only one prime requisite; Think Fast, and Act Faster" - John Trevor Godfrey, 336 Sqn RAF
