Random Number Generator. Since it generates random data numbers that contributed to a lot of stuff including shot missing or hitting, shots dealing low damage roll or high damage roll, and shots bouncing or penning, it is generally used as a common scapegoat whenever something goes wrong. Alternatively, used as a justification whenever you take a shot that has seemingly little chance to be effective but ends up penning and dealing big numbers anyway. Also known as Hand of Stalin in KV-2s (which requires mental sacrifice of political dissidents to work) and RNGesus by anything else.

"Fight to fly, fly to fight, FIGHT TO WIN!" - U.S Navy Fighter Weapons School TOPGUN.

"Nothing is right in tactics. A good fighter pilot must be free to propose improvements to his tactics or he will get himself killed." - Cmdr. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, USN.

"To be a good fighter pilot, there's only one prime requisite; Think Fast, and Act Faster" - John Trevor Godfrey, 336 Sqn RAF

A Random Number Generator in much the same way of what is used when playing online slot machines. It is a series of numbers that determines the outcome in software. The precise moment you push the fire button/spin button will determine the exact number given and that number will attribute to win small amount, win medium amount or win jackpot for example on a slot machine

In tanks, your exact number will determine a low roll hit, high roll hit, random bounce, ghost shot, ammo rack, or any other possible outcome. As Diamond pointed out above, a slow firing derp machine like the KV2 is highly RNG dependent. If the RNG gods are in your favor, your shots are one shot kills, if not you either bounce or get a low roll hit and have to then try and hide while your gun takes an age to reload.
