I rage sold the proto last night after a 7 game losing streak.  It wasnt fun for me because your performance is so depndent on your team mates.

I used free xp to unlock the t30.

Yeah, unfortunately these days, TD's and Heavies are so reliant on (non-existent) teamwork, that losses usually occur.

T30 is a god, please get the 155mm ASAP. Good luck :)

This tank has a very good gun and decent armour from a distance. My advice? Find a position where you could keep the gun singing. Also, do remember that if you need to relocate, do it. You don't have speed, might as well follow the fight when its safe enough to move onward. Also, read the team compositions and the mini map, as this tank is as fast as continental drift and make sure to be on the right spot at all times.

I saw one in battle yesterday and the recent buff to mobility seems quite significant.  It looked a lot more playable.

But i wont be rushing back to buy it.

Get both engine boosts. My record for most bounces are in the T28 proto. I was in Castella coming from the north going to A and was crossing the bridge. Then a whole bunch of red tier 7/8 lights/mediums were capping A. All their shots bounced I think it was 30 plus. Hehe

Lesson learned. When you are top tier your frontal armor is dependable. Even the IS line tier 8 and 7 will have a hard time penning you even with apcr and you reload faster than them.

When you are low tier all tier 9 guns can pen your front.

Personal advise roll with the heavies if you can. Hang on there once you get to the t30 it's the best gun for its tier.

driving that thing and winning is luck based and team performance, just too slow to make support fire and too slow to retaliate fast HT like the IS tanks on its same tier and higher

Sounds a lot like Sex Panther - 60% of the time it works every time.

Ahahahaha love those movies, add Talladega Nights & Semi Pro to the list.

Gentleman Tanker.

I started off hating the T28 Prot but then I started to play to its strengths, a great gun and great front armour.

Yes you sometimes get caught out following your team but in those times I try and take some cover and duke it out.

Upgrade the gun as soon as possible and angle the front and watch the shots bounce off it.

I like it so much that even though I now have the T30 I haven't sold the T28 Prot.

Gentleman Tanker.

I LOVE this tank! Fast reload, massive damage, incredible accuracy, great penetration, bouncy frontal armour (moves like a snail, paper sides, turns like a supertanker...). Prints credits compared to my other tanks, mints medals (my first 7 kill game)

Sorry for digging this thread from the grave but how is the T28 Proto doing nowadays? I'm considering getting it.

I hated it. Some people love it though. Overall, it is outclassed by the T28 Defender in every way.

So slow, and with strong but rather unreliable frontal and turret armour. Most red tanks can punch through the hull front with prammo.

Good firepower in terms of DPM, pen and alpha but aiming is a bit derpy.

Gun depression is good but the tank is huge, which makes it hard to find places to use the gun safely.

It leads to the T30, which is absolutely worth the grind. It took me longer to get the Proto to 50% than it did to elite it, so if you don't care about individual tank WRs you could get there quicker than I did and probably be less frustrated.

Thanks for the heads up. Frankly speaking, none of the tier 8 tanks that I have used are above 50% wr for whatever reason there is. Seems Tier 8 is the sore spot for me. For reference, my E50 currently sits at 53%.

Let's see if the T28-Proto can help me have a different experience this time.
