So after a year of inactivity, I played some games (700ish of them) in this update. Missed the IS-3 Defender, missed the luchs strafing spree, and really- really MISSED the OLD SNIPING SPOTS.

 

AND, the nerf on camo net? 

 

Where can a slow, mediocre armored, HUGE TD like Jg Tig 8.8 supposed to do? He get spotted even from a third of a map? 

What should german TDs, that have to rely on the accuracy of their gun supposed to react?

 

OH, follow the heavies as support, yeah... and join peek a boom with 220 ish alpha?

 

NO, it's only option is to:

1. find a long range heavy lane (if your heavies could remember not to obstruct your firing range)

2. find a rock to cover the lower frontal hull,

3. find a mate to protect flanks, 

 

all those conditions above should be met, if you want to survive. BUT WHERE? WHICH MAPS? Middleburg? no more straight lanes, no sniping spots, nothing, zilch.

Malinovka? sniping spots are a few HUNDRED meters away... took 45 sec to get there, which at 10 sec, you are spotted, and EVERYBODY loves big JGTig sides. (boom, ammorack!)

Desert Sands.... got a heavy lane, if you can survive being flanked by medium in 30 sec... No sniping spots available  anymore.

Mirage? got a heavy lane, No sniping spots, bite your lips, and hope your medium last without support from you (BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO WAY TO SUPPORT THEM, you are slow, no clear firing range)

Port bay? Everybody love the bridges, only one sniping spot, pray you are on the right team closest to it.

Canal? 2 sniping spots, 1 near, the other far away... pray you have the near one ( oh, that's right... YOU CANT CLIMB THE BLOODY SNIPING SPOT, because you are too heavy)

 

What's with the Camo Net nerf? why bother making the already weak TDs weaker?

 

OK, enough with the JgTig,

 

The ISU.

 

Buffed?

 

What a joke.

 

Where is the sniping spot for it to thrive? Whenever I play ISU, I really pray hard for the map to be Mines, Black Goldville (which WILL have no more sniping spots), Fort, Rockfield (notice they are all old maps?)

 

Indeed, it got buffed in traverse speed, but there are now VK28, [edited]. They WILL spot you in 10 sec, WILL try to flank you, how many traverse buff do you need to contend with them? WITH THE CURRENT MAP? 

Edited: jgtig post 2.9 can't be cod-ed by is3. Yay!

I thought jg tig 8,8 is a heavy-td?...

Which is definitely not a sniping tank but a mid range tank

It's large profile preventing it to snipe

 

Isu-152 i can't said much

But high alpha, high dpm

Be creative could help 'sometimes'

I suggest you Check forum News updates Thread by Wargaming Admins/Moderator for special events so you won't miss any.,also update 2.8 is notoriously Nerfing Credit balance for the meta and many player didn't like it., for JT being Underpowered., Mirage got a point about JT being a mid range support., But i use the Tier 9 that Armed with more powerful and Deadly 128mm .,  so i can't say much with 88mm armed version.,

Just.,Just  Play Fallout., this gaem succ balls

Jgtig is supposed to be a heavy td, with a glaringly HUGE weakspot in front (Lower Hull Plate). If it want to angle, It can't shoot... It need spots, small rocks, or small bumps to hide it's weakspot, But it isn't feasible anymore, not with these maps... too easy to flank, too few maps with long alleys, too many high speed tanks.

1st of all, I need to said

All tier8 heavy with angling won't help them to bounce shot

Only hull down and side scrap will helps

While jg tig 8,8 is the case of hull down

And the new map have plenty of hull down spot

As for 'enemy' flanking

It's definitely your fault to get flank by enemy

(Pretty sure that it's being too long for you to come back, your skill is rusty now)

As your jg tig8,8 is not as slow as my t28 proto

And your jg tig 8,8 have better side armor

But i hardly got flank by enemy

The reason is because situation awareness

It's pretty important to read the situation right

Don't stay alone is the standard operating procedure

And if you have no idea where the enemy from

Assume they are everywhere, make use of covers to encounter this

Please bring a binocular for a long-mid range tank

It's needed for defending purpose as well as attacking purpose

*3sec to works, it's enough for mid-long range tank

Td is definitely not the weakest class in game

Make use of it's advantage will succeed in game

As most of the td have good guns(dpm/penetration) and some have good camo

If those advantage is not what you want, then never touch td line

I think TD need "normal teammates"

Why did they introduce a new line of poorly armoured TD's when they're getting rid of all the TD spots?

Sigh, sometimes, when I Drive my leopard (a fun "grind" btw, so fun to poke nedles on other TDs), I show green TDs where to snipe. I would Scout for them, lure reds for them to shoot.

I haven't got a clue myself. Though I wouldn't call the new TD line poorly armored, they got good armor profile.

 

Regarding JgTig speed compared to proto.. Well, I haven't use proto yet. sure hope after the update jgTig buff, the tank would become more friendly to me. 

 

Before the update, I guess I'll use comet instead. Meds are so much fun right now. Maps today make COD much easier.

Well, the tier VII seems a little unreliable. I've heard good things about the tier 10, though.

Yeah can have 400+mm effective armor easily. Only lower plate is weak and mantlet a bit  as well

Post update jg tig is so much better. My guru also doesn't get thrown into T8 matches anymore.
